WINTER GRILLING FUN!!

An average American living in the South or West in such States as Arizona, California, Florida and Texas tends to grill year round which makes it a 52 week per year event. Grilling the whole year round means you are outside in the summer grilling when it’s hot and in the winter grilling when its cold. However, those of you living in the North and East in such areas
as New York, Chicago, Pennsylvania, and yes even way out in Minnesota, can enjoy BBQ grilling in the Winter.
Most of us tend to think “Why grill in winter when its freezing outside”? But let’s think the other way round as to “WHY NOT grill in the winter?”. Once you decide to take a chance at grilling in the winter, you will never look back. Ask yourself if the charcoal cares whether its snowing or the grill gives a damn? The answer will surely validate your new found notion of
WHY NOT. Take your shovel and parka out, make a path to your backyard grill, brush off the grill and light it up. It will take only a few minutes more than it does in the summer to warm up your grill. Surprised? Add a few chunks of cherry wood and once the smoke rolls out, start the brats. You will be surprised again. The temperature will not affect your grilling and
the brats won’t notice either. Bring the brats in like freshly won trophies, plate them quickly and have a sumptuous summer time traditional meal right in the middle of winter. You will definitely be hooked to the year round grilling after this. Arrange for some goodCustom BBQ Grills for your backyard kitchen and you will be addicted!
Grilling in the winter is a lot of fun. but following a few tips and tricks will make your winter time grilling a wonderful experience.
First prepare yourself If you go unprepared or are not comfortable enough for the conditions outdoors, your grilling experience may be an unpleasant one. You need to be wearing the proper clothes to beat the winter cold while you stand watching your food on the grill. Don’t be afraid to wear your winter coat, gloves, hat and if necessary your boots if the snow is deep.
Use new charcoal
Try keeping your charcoal baskets empty and heat up just enough coal to cook what is getting grilled that night. Briquettes are a good option since they burn for a longer time.
Lump charcoals may also be used as well. Lump charcoal tends to burn faster and hotter than other charcoal. You may occasionally mix the two for making fire hotter at a much faster rate. This trick is a good one to use when it is frightful outside and you want to grill as fast as you can.
Prepare your grill
Your shovel is believed to be one of the most important grilling tools needed for winter grilling to clear a path to your grill and your car brush may be a close second to clear off the snow from the top of your American BBQ Grill, Argentine BBQ Grill, Santa Maria BBQ Grill, Uruguayan BBQ Grill or any other kind of grill you may have.
Make an indoor staging place
A staging place is a place where one can place hot plates of incoming food and also stage food going out to the grill. If the place is just inside the door, you don’t need to track snow all over your house. By keeping your serving plates at room temperature at your staging place, you won’t need to worry about your plate being cold. You surely would never wish to
introduce “hot off the grill” steak to one -15F plate. The top table of the smokers or grills of various types like Wood burning smokers, Wood burning BBQ grills, charcoal burning BBQ grills or gas burning BBQ grills may serve the purpose.
Try keeping the lid closed as much as you can
When you try smoking things on your Wood burning smokers or Wood burning BBQ grills or any kind of grills for that matter, always use a probe thermometer with long wires which can go right inside the grill. You can try this in any season, but it’s especially convenient in the winter since you may not want to lift the lid most of the time. If the condition arises that you have to lift the lid for peeking or a quick flip, never tilt the lid. Rather, try lifting the lid straight up. This helps in trapping the little hot air which is there under the lid. Hence, when you close the lid again, you face a small temperature climb to get right where you started in no time.
Be patient and allow a little more time
Cooking in winter takes a little longer time, just like you take time in planning and preparing for the same. Take a moment and enjoy the fresh, crisp air and the beauty of a peaceful winter night when you are out. Winters also are the quietest time in the neighbourhood.
Go enjoy the great outdoors all to yourself!
One can relish grilled food year round. Make an effort, go out and grill no matter where you live. Put on your winter clothes and give it a shot. You may also add some veggies to the grill while you are at it and make the complete meal outside. There is no logic in lighting the grill up just for the sake of meat. Give your kitchen a good vacation!
